Description
Kissing Cardinals are known for a behaviour called “courtship feeding,” which occurs most commonly in the springtime before the breeding season starts and when cardinals are searching for a mate. During this time, male cardinals fetch seeds and feed them to female mates. When the female agrees to become his mate they sing to each other. If the mating is successful, this mate-feeding may continue throughout the period of incubation. Mated pairs often travel together.
